False Equivalence
With just eight days left in his presidency, speaking for the first time since the attempted coup, Trump attempts to draw a false equivalancy between his Impeachment on High Crimes early in 2019 and the Tomorrow’s Impeachment on Insurrection. This while he head to the Texas Mexican boarder to promote the accomplishment of 41 miles of new boarder wall that America paid for and Mexico did not. All this while he has stopped doing most of his job.

The FBI is warning of plans for armed protests at all 50 state capitals and in Washington, D.C., in the days leading up to President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, stoking fears of more bloodshed after last week’s deadly siege at the U.S. Capitol.

The Capitol riot is shaking up the world of political fundraising, as major companies like Google, Coca-Cola and UPS all have pledged to suspend contributions across the board. Resignation Calls Get Louder
Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott spent the last 24 hours facing calls for his resignation. One of his first actions as part of the new Congress was to give seditious votes that falsely left the impression the Biden/Harris victory could be decertified by Congress, and given that his pre-vote rhetoric may have dangerously escalated the potential for violence at the January 6 rally in Washington DC.

We’re not going to be done with social distancing any time soon. The World Health Organization has warned that herd immunity won’t happen in 2021, and social distancing measures will need to stay in place “for the rest of this year,” despite vaccine progress. In the US, more than 200,000 new coronavirus cases have been reported every day for a week.
