Last night President Trump and Joe Biden held concurrent town halls on two different networks. In Trump’s appearance, he continued to downplay the coronavirus and refused to denounce QAnon. During Biden’s town hall, the former Vice President discussed policies and said he would have a statement on court packing by the election.

Cruel Winter
Health experts warned Americans months ago, that if we didn’t get Covid under control that it would be a very difficult winter. It looks like they were right. While we are still two months away, cases are on the rise. Yesterday America saw nearly 60,000 new cases with positivity rates in the midwest over 20%. In places like Florida testing show a positivity rate of 12%.

No Soup for You
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has all but quashed democrats and American’s hopes for a big stimulus proposal before election day. McConnell,, said he will not consider any stimulus package over $1.8 trillion. However, the ongoing stimulus stalemate is pushing more people into poverty. The early Stimulus measures helped bring the poverty rate down to 9.3% in June. However, continued economic woes have brought the rate back up to 11.1%. Along with coronavirus infections the Jobless claims are back up, too. Nearly 900,000 Americans filed for first-time unemployment benefits last week.

Up for Now
After a couple of disappointing days the U.S. stocks opened higher today as Pfizer said it could apply for emergency use of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate as early as November and data showed stronger-than-expected retail sales growth last month.

Dog Gone It
With help from Paws of War and after months of red tape and COVID-19 restrictions, U.S. Air Force Sgt. AJ Kirrish was reunited with his dog Harley. While deployed Sgt. Kirrish, who is now a firefighter, save Harley, who was the only dog that survive it’s liter.
