Not What We Wanted
2020 is a record year in more ways than one. Being the most active hurricane season on record was not one that anybody wanted. With the formation of subtropical storm Theta 2020 has reached this ominous distinction while we continue to watch tropical storm Eta swirl off the western coast of Cuba. Eta is expected to move north into the gulf and become a hurricane again. Theta is on a path that took Eta to Honduras and Nicaragua.

Taking Credit?
Vice President Pence is trying to take credit for the announcement of a possible vaccine by Pfizer yesterday. The only problem is that Pfizer was not part of “Operation Warp speed.” In fact Pfizer and a company out of the UK were working on vaccines for covid type infections even before the 2020 pandemic. The first call Pfizer CEO made was to President Elect Biden.

To Be or Not To Be
The Supreme Court will meet today to discuss whether to invalidate the entire Affordable Care Act, in perhaps the most consequential case of the term. The case is brought by a coalition of Republican-led states and the Trump administration, who argue the law’s individual mandate is unconstitutional, and the entire law must fall. If it does fall, 20 million Americans will lose their insurance.

Its a Boy and a Girl
A set of twins from Tennessee have welcomed daughters on the same day, which also happened to be their birthday. Amber Tramontana and Autum Shaw were in neighboring rooms at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville when they gave birth 90 minutes apart. Amber and her husband Jim welcomed Blakely James and Autumn and her husband Scott named their little girl Charleston Scott.
